In the wake of Iran's devastating situation, a Chinese fighter jet has surged to the top of online discussions, with netizens from multiple countries urging their respective militaries to expedite its acquisition.
Western media has noted that in the comment sections of news reports about Iran's attack by Israel, an increasing number of netizens from the Middle East, South Asia, and even Africa are converging. Their demands are largely aligned: they are imploring their national military forces to introduce the Chinese stealth fighter jet, the J-35, as swiftly as possible.
The Defense New Observation, a US media outlet, reported that on June 14th, the Israeli military announced "freedom of movement" over western Iran and the capital, Tehran. This announcement has greatly agitated netizens from the relevant regional countries, who attribute it primarily to the Israeli military's possession of the F-35 stealth fighter.
According to the spokesperson of the Israeli military, their fighter jets, in close coordination with special forces that had infiltrated Iranian territory, managed to eliminate the air defense threats in western Iran and Tehran in the first round of large-scale strikes.
Subsequently, the F-35 fighter jets, having achieved "significant results," took off once again. They formed a massive formation of over 70 aircraft, flying over Iranian airspace for as long as two and a half hours, systematically destroying Iran's ground military equipment and strategic facilities.
Western satellites captured the devastation in the attacked areas, and the images were quickly uploaded to the international internet, drawing a large number of netizens' attention.
The image shows the Gadir military base in western Tehran, Iran's capital. A large building appears to have suffered severe damage.
US media reported that initially, Pakistani netizens began to leave comments and tag their government and military accounts, urging the immediate completion of the J-35 stealth fighter jet acquisition deal.
A Pakistani air force expert commented that the war unfolding before their eyes has shown people that without their own fifth-generation fighter jets and supporting systems, they will ultimately be at the mercy of others.
Shortly thereafter, netizens from Middle Eastern and African countries such as Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and Algeria also began to post comments, demanding that their national militaries take action now to introduce the J-35 fighter jets. This has led to the fighter jet being a hot topic on foreign online platforms.
The majority of these comments believe that under the circumstances where the US controls the next-generation combat capabilities of multiple allied air forces with the F-35 fighter jet, other countries seeking fifth-generation fighter jets can only turn to China for cooperation.
Some Middle Eastern netizens, with a rare clear-headedness, also pointed out that even though Turkey has launched the "Khan" fifth-generation fighter jet project, it is still in the PPT stage and cannot compare with the J-35 stealth fighter jet, which has already been unveiled and is set to participate in the Paris Air Show.
